Summer and Fall Housing Updates

Housing Applications

Academic 2022-2023

The housing application for the academic year 2022-2023 is now available on your PioHousing Portal! As a reminder, students must complete either an on-campus application or an off-campus application if not automatically exempt from the residency requirement.

For questions or to request a housing accommodation, please contact accessibility services at Students interested in inclusive housing may notify the housing office at

Summer 2022

Summer housing will be a double-occupancy room at $14 per day in College Avenue, Carroll Street and Hartwell C apartments.

Students interested in requesting summer housing must submit a Summer Housing Application by 4 PM on Monday, April 25, 2022. Summer housing requests submitted after April 25 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Housing Selection

Returning Students

Returning student priority self-selection for the 2022-23 academic year housing was available March 7 - 10, 2022 for all students who submitted a completed housing application by March 1. A second Last Chance Lottery is available for returning or transfer students who do not have a housing assignment to self-selection their room on April 20.

The deadline is April 15 to complete the on-campus housing application (if you have not already done so). Timeslots for self-selection will be assigned to eligible students by the end of the day Monday, April 18. The lottery system assigns time slots based on the total credits earned by the start of the upcoming academic year as well as the application complete date.

Students who do not participate in the self-selection process will be assigned housing placements by the Office of Residence Life and Housing prior to first-year student selection.

First-Year Students

First-Year students who complete their on-campus housing applications by the priority deadline of May 1 are eligible to participate in self-selection in late May. A lottery date and time to handpick your room will be assigned the week of May 23. Priority for determining timeslots is based on the application completion date. The housing office will email your timeslot and more information on First-Year Selection the week of May 16.

You can still log into your PioHousing Portal and update your building, room type, and personal profile preferences up until your timeslot for selection.  You can also use the roommate search function built into the housing application to find a potential roommate match.

Residency Requirement

The Office of Residence Life and Housing will resume our standard residency requirement for the academic year 2022-23. This states that all full-time undergraduate students who enroll at Carroll are subject to a junior residency requirement. This requirement remains in effect until a student has achieved senior standing (92 credits) by the beginning of the academic year.
