About Best Buddies

Best Buddies is a non-profit organization that creates one-on-one friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs).  Thanks to Best Buddies, those with IDDs are able to secure rewarding jobs, make lifelong frienships, become effective leaders, and live independent lives. The organization was founded by Anthony Shriver in 1989.
The Carroll University chapter was founded in the fall of 2011. It is dedicated in the honor of Andy Telford, who was a member of Best Buddies at Kettle Moraine High School. The Telfords are strong supporters of the Carroll University Best Buddies chapter.
